Here we have Coghlan's emergency shelter tube tent. These are incredibly lightweight, take up very little space so are ideal to fit in a day pack. The kit includes a chord so you can run it through the 'tube' and tie it between two trees/anchoring points. Place sleeping bags/kit as anchor points to hold the sidewalls in place and anchor the corners.
These are ideal as an emergency shelter because of their lightweight compactness and highly visible colour, or can be simply used as a groundsheet for gear.
